Woking Borough Council is a landlord partner with Homeswapper, the UKs largest national mutual exchange service, which allows tenants to register for this service for free.

Woking Borough Council maintains a Housing Register of applicants in housing need including Council tenants who wish to transfer to a more suitable home. Through the Housing Register assessment process, applicants housing needs are assessed and a level of priority awarded using a banding system. The level of priority, and time on the Housing Register, informs who is rehoused.

The council offers incentive grants to tenants who are under occupying or who want to down size to a smaller property. The council also offers help, support and advice on Housing Benefit, Benefit Cap or Bedroom subsidy.
