An initiative offering cheaper town centre car parking on Saturdays has been extended to cover the whole weekend, giving you even more reason to visit Victoria Place Woking.
Following last year’s successful trial, visitors can now park up to three hours for just £3 in Victoria Place car park every Saturday and Sunday, with further savings on Saturdays when staying up to five hours.
Cllr Dale Roberts, Woking Borough Council’s Portfolio Holder for Economic Development and Finance, said: “I am delighted we are able to extend this initiative, which supports residents and local businesses, to cover the whole weekend.
“We want to continue to create a thriving and vibrant town centre, and through our initiative, town centre visitors are now staying longer. This has benefited retailers, restaurateurs and leisure operators, who have seen an increase in footfall and turnover, who have attributed these increases to our lower parking charge initiative.
“So, with a host of fantastic shopping, dining and leisure experiences, there’s even more reason to visit Victoria Place Woking this weekend.”
Victoria Place boasts a range of fantastic stores, including M&S, Skechers, Moss Bros, Gail’s Bakery and most recently national fitness brand, Gym Group. Whilst Woking’s latest entertainment complex, Woking Superbowl, offers the latest family entertainment.
More recently, lifestyle brand, Lark London, and fast food chain, Burger KIng, have opened their doors, with the eagerly anticipated return of much-loved music store, hmv, opening soon.
To accommodate visitors, Victoria Place has over 3,000 car parking spaces, featuring 78 electric charging bays, 80 disabled spaces, 54 parent and toddler parking bays and an exclusive M&S ‘click and collect’ area.
Reduced parking rates are offered in Victoria Place Blue, Green, Red and Yellow car parks on Saturdays and Sundays only.
