The Woking Safer Neighbourhood Team will be hosting a burglary awareness day on Saturday 2 August 2014 at the Coign Church in Goldsworth Road, Woking.

The event has been organised on the anniversary of a spate of burglaries which took place in the Borough this time last year.

Woking Town Police Community Support Officer, Oliver Greenaway, said: "It is important that residents are reminded and have all the latest up-to-date advice about what they can do to protect their homes.

"The local officers, along with security professionals, will be on hand to offer advice and safety equipment.

"In addition to the items to purchase there will also be free leaflets available to help you take steps to secure your property and officers will be happy to answer any queries. Representatives from Woking Neighbourhood Watch will be attending to answer any questions or to advise local residents how set up a neighbourhood watch in their own street."

The Woking Neighbourhood Team will also be offering bike security marking. If you would like your bike added to a national property register, please bring your bike along and one of the team will register it on your behalf.

You can also take the opportunity to have a chat with the team and, if you wish, rasie any issues of concern.

The event will be open to the public between 11.30am and 3.30pm. Parking is available at the church.
