Woking Leisure Centre and Pool in the Park - operated by Freedom Leisure in partnership with Woking Borough Council - are hosting free activity mornings for ladies aged 16+ on Saturday 8 March to celebrate Women's International Day.
Freedom Leisure and Woking Borough Council have been awarded funding from StreetGames to run the `Us Girls' event which aims to encourage women who have become disengaged with sport and exercise to become active. There will be a whole host of free activities on offer from 10am to 12noon including Zumba, HIT Fit (High Intensity Interval Training), Myride+ indoor cycling sessions, badminton and swimming. All abilities are welcome and everyone who attends will receive a free t-shirt. There will also be exclusive Vida Lotus hairdressing and beauty salon discounts on the day, as well as goody bags.
"Us Girls is a fantastic initiative and we are thrilled to be hosting an open morning to support the programme and celebrate Women's International Day," says Freedom Leisure Community Sports Development Officer Kathryn Dennehy. "The choice of activities means ladies can try something new or return to an old sport or exercise in a safe and friendly environment. We hope our event will encourage many more women in Woking to take up new active hobbies."
