If you are a tenant renting in the private sector, tenancy law can protect your rights and private tenancy agreement.

Join us for a free information and guidance drop-in event, including refreshments, in the H.G. Wells Conference & Events Centre, Woking.

How the event can help you

The free event, aimed at residents renting private properties and rooms within private properties, will deliver a series of short talks on key tenancy issues, including:

  • your rights and responsibilities as a private tenant
  • how the law can protect your private tenancy
  • top tips for managing and avoiding common tenancy issues
  • future private sector housing initiatives.

During the event, you can also get free one-to-one advice about your personal circumstances from specialist advisors, including the Council's Housing Standards Officers and Citizens Advice Woking (formerly the Citizens Advice Bureau).

The free event has a limited capacity and places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. To avoid disappointment, it is recommended that private tenants wishing to attend the event book their place in advance online here.

Alternatively (and subject to availability), private tenants can turn up on the night; the first talk start promptly at 6.30pm.
