Bid for properties

Service update: There is no property list available for bidding cycle number five (Tuesday 5 March 2024).

A ‘bid’ is when you express your interest in a specific property or properties using the online choice based lettings system. This service is available to residents who have qualified and are registered on our housing register.

When you can bid

Properties and bid deadlines are advertised every two weeks online. The bidding cycles open at 9am on the nominated Tuesday and finish at 9am on the Friday (of the same week).

Subject to the vacancies advertised, you will be able to bid for a maximum of three properties per bidding cycle.

During the bidding process, the system will check whether you meet the eligibility requirements for each property. If you do not meet the requirements, you will not be able to bid for the property.

Once you have reached the maximum number of bids, the system will not allow you to place any further bids during that bidding cycle. You can withdraw a bid at any time during the bidding cycle (see below for more details).

How to withdraw a bid

You can withdraw a bid at any time during the bidding cycle. You can do this online via the choice based lettings system.

Bidding problems

If you’re unable to bid for a property which meets your eligibility requirements, this may be because the information held on your application is incorrect or not up to date. It is essential that you inform us immediately of any changes that may affect your application.

Bidding status

If your bid has been successful, you will be contacted by a member of the housing team.

If you have not been contacted within 14 days of the closing date for bids, it is unlikely that your bid has been successful. Therefore, you should continue to bid.

Due to the volume of bids received, it is not possible to let you know why your bids have been unsuccessful. Please do not call the housing team for individual results.
