Financial Management

Financial Management are responsible for financial stewardship functions and preparing the annual accounts. They are also responsible for preparing the Council budget; which can be found in full in the Annual Service and Performance Plan, or in Summary in the Finance Factsheet; monitoring and reporting on financial performance and providing financial advice to Councillors and service managers.

The Statement of Accounts for 2015/16 is available online or on request from the Civic Offices. Included in the Statement of Accounts is the Annual Governance Statement (AGS), which can be found here.

The Council is also subject to an annual audit currently undertaken by KPMG, who report on the Council's financial position, stewardship and governance arrangements. KPMG's reports can be found on the Annual Audit page.

The Audit Commission have published a guidance booklet which summarises your rights to inspect, question or object to the Council's accounts.
