LATEST UPDATE: 9 April 2021
Coronavirus: parking service updates
Parking restrictions across the borough have been maintained in the most recent lockdown but a lighter touch approach has been carried out in residential areas where more people have been working from home. This included the relaxation of some single yellow line restrictions and residential bays although areas with specific problems have still been patrolled to ensure residents have not been negatively impacted. Double yellow line, loading bay and disabled bay enforcement has remained unchanged throughout lockdown.
In line with the government easing the Coronavirus lockdown restrictions to allow non-essential retailers to recommence trading on Monday 12th April 2021, we are recommencing enforcement of all parking restrictions to manage the expected increase in vehicles in the Woking and Surrey Heath Boroughs. We will continue to monitor the situation Borough wide and follow national guidance with our response to Coronavirus and its impact.
Applications for parking new permits remain available.
Coronavirus safety measures
A series of measures that have been introduced within the car parks that puts safety first, including reduced pay stations which are regularly cleaned, doors that are not fire doors to remain open, new signage and an enhanced cleaning regime, to name just a few, will continue. These measures are designed to ensure maximum hygiene and safety in every area.
We are urging residents and visitors to continue to observe social distancing guidelines in all public spaces which are essential to help keep everyone safe.
