We're committed to providing a range of quality services for people who find it difficult or impossible to prepare a meal, so they can continue to live at home. An essential part of living well at home is having easy access to nutritious meals.
The Community Meals Service delivers at lunchtime hot meal with dessert, teatime meal and a breakfast pack for the following day up to seven days a week for as long as needed, and special dietary needs are also available such as gluten free, soft diet and Halal meal options.
Apply for community meals
To qualify for this service, you must identify with one of the following:
- unable to cook for yourself and no-one else is available to do so
- not motivated to cook and in danger of malnutrition
- unaware of the time or the need to eat regular meals
- unable to shop for your main meal requirements
- you're a carer who would be assisted by meal preparation.
Referrals for this service can be made by you or anyone involved in your care.
If you require help with your application, please contact us by phone or email. We may be able to organise a time for a member of our team to visit your home and complete the form on your behalf.
Woking Borough Council now provides a key safe service alongside the community meals service.
Anyone who applies for the service can have key safe provided and fitted free of charge.

Daily deliveries are made between 11.15am and 1.45pm depending on the area. Please be aware that we're unable to leave hot meals if you're not at home.
To enjoy the hot meal at its best, it should be eaten as soon as it arrives and should not be reheated later in the day.
Menus and costs
The hot lunch consists of a main course and dessert and costs £4*.
Our teatime meal costs £2*, which includes a sandwich and a piece of cake, fresh fruit or yoghurt.
Our breakfast pack includes a baked croissant with butter and jam, or a box of cereal with milk and a choice of juice for £1*. (*Current costs.)
Teatime and breakfast meals are delivered at the same time as the lunchtime meal and should be stored in a refrigerator until it is eaten.
Our preferred method of payment is by direct debit. An invoice will be sent to your home each month for the previous month's meals. This is usually posted around the 10th day of each month.
Lunchtime meals are also available every weekday at Moorcroft, St Mary's, The Vyne and Brockhill centres. There are a good choice of meals, both hot and cold, and special dietary requirements can be catered for.
