Community safety

Surrey has the lowest level of recorded crime in England and Woking is one of the safest places to live, work and visit in the UK.

However, we still recognise that community safety issues are an important to our residents, so we work partnership with other organisations to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour.

Safer Woking Partnership

The Safer Woking Partnership was set up to help reduce crime in our area by promoting crime prevention initiatives and protecting the most vulnerable people in our community.

It includes representatives from:

By working together, the partnership's objective is to tackle offenders while reducing the fear of crime by providing reassurance to the public. It focuses on a range of issues from:

  • anti-social behaviour
  • drugs and alcohol
  • domestic abuse to hate crime
  • organised crime
  • violent extremism
  • criminal reoffending
  • child exploitation.
