How do I Apply for a Local Land Search Report?

Buying a house can be a complicated process. Here we have set out some general information that hopefully make your search process as straightforward as possible while at the same time providing some contacts to sources of information that you might find helpful. Applications can be made online via NLIS (National Land Information Service) at www.nlis.org.uk Postal searches can be submitted on the following documents.

What documents do I need to submit?

Both the LLC1 and CON29 forms should be submitted at the same time if answers to both are required. Please note that when submitting your request the following must be included: -

  • The LLC1 and CON29 forms, must be in duplicate, if your require answers to both;

  • The correct fee - the Authority does not accept personal cheques. All cheques should be made payable to Woking Borough Council and cannot be post dated;

  • A clear address indicating the property to be searched;

  • A Land Registry filed plan, in duplicate, outlining the property in red.

Where can I obtain a the LLC1 and Con29 Form?

Land Charge forms are normally provided by the solicitor dealing with your conveyancing.

However should you want a Land Charge Form these can be obtained from the National Supplier Oyez on 0870 7377370 or sales.sparoad@oyez.co.uk.

How much are your search fees?

As from the 1st April 2009 our fee for a standard search (LLC1, CON29 forms and two site locations plans) is £163.37

How long does the search take?

Woking Borough Councils Local Land Charges section aims to provide an accurate and prompt service to your Local Land Searches requests as well as to you own additional enquires.

The Audit Commissions statutory performance indicator is 100% response to all valid searches within 10 working days although our current turnaround time to process all standard searches is within 4-5 working days.

We do not offer an expedited search service.
