Validation checklists and forms

The validation checklists form three parts:

National validation checklist (mandatory)

Contains compulsory requirements for nearly all applications (the notes identify the exceptions), including some matters that are required by law in any event.

Note:

  • Woking Borough Council requires the submission of two copies of every document and plan, unless the application is submitted electronically.
  • All plans must be marked with a recognisable standard metric scale and correct paper size. Do not mark plans with "Do not scale" or similar text. A scale is a statutory requirement and it is essential that planning drawings can be scaled for assessment and enforcement purposes. Plans should be clearly drawn, numbered, dated and identify the address to which they relate.
  • It is a statutory requirement that the North point is shown on plans.
  • We do not supply Ordnance Survey plans.

Local validation checklist (mandatory)

Contains additional items of information that will be required for certain applications and in certain circumstances.

Local validation checklist (advisory)

Contains items that may be requested at the pre-application stage, at validation or during the assessment. Items requested by the Council will be considered essential to the full and proper assessment of your planning application.

National Planning Application forms (1APP)

Please use the the type of application (below) you wish to make and the checklist of items to be submitted. For combined applications select the combined form. Note that the requirements for each type of application should be amalgamated and two sets of all documents are required for each part of the application.

It is important that you read the validation checklists, pre-application advice and validation of applications information before proceding with your application.

Failure to provide competent information or to follow pre-application advice on items to be submitted with your application is likely to lead to a refusal.
