National planning policy

The Government’s Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) set national policy on various aspects of planning and the rules that govern the operation of the planning system through a series of new-style Planning Policy Statements (PPS) which are gradually replacing Planning Policy Guidance Notes (PPG).  

The Council’s planning polices for Woking must be in conformity with policy set at the national level. Further information about national planning policy is available from DCLG.
