Open Space, Sports and Recreation Facilities Audit

The requirement to undertake this audit of open space, sport and recreation provision is set out in Government policy in the form of Planning Policy Guidance Note 17: Planning for open space, sport and recreation (PPG17). The study, published in 2005, establishes the amount and quality of open space, sport and recreation facilities within the Borough.  As such, the findings of the study will inform both the Council's future policy for these facilities and future strategies to ensure their adequate provision.

The study will be updated in the spring to reflect changes in baseline information. The updated study will look forward to 2026.
