In line with Government guidance and best practice, the Council undertook an assessment of the potential to accommodate additional housing within Woking's urban areas. As part of the process of it was necessary to consider the appropriateness of possible sites having regard to a number of factors, including: the likelihood of sites coming forward; whether the suggested density at which a site is developed is appropriate; and constraints that may prevent development of a site.
It should be noted that the requirement to undertake a Housing Potential Study has been superceded by a new requirement to undertake a Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment.
