Site Allocations DPD

This autumn, the Council will be starting work on a Site Allocations Development Plan Document (DPD). The document will form an essential part of the Council's Local Development Framework and will allocate land for development and designate areas of land for protection, safeguarding, or where specific policies apply.

As part of its work on producing the Site Allocations DPD, the Council will be considering provision of sites for various types of uses including land for housing, employment, new open spaces and new infrastructure. We would therefore like to take this opportunity to request that you submit any sites to the Council for consideration at this early stage to inform this work.

All potential sites that are put forward will be considered as part of the procedure in order to identify the most appropriate sites for allocation. Therefore, if you have an interest in any site, or sites, that you wish to be considered in the process, please read the briefing notes below and complete the initial site assessment form, and submit together with a site location plan by Friday 3 June 2011.

Please read the Site Allocations briefing note before completing the pro forma. The initial Site Allocations site assessment forms are available to download as both PDF and Word documents.

Please note that there is no need to tell us about existing open spaces, allotments, natural areas and so on which are already allocated in the Woking Borough Local Plan 1999.

Please note that the Site Allocations DPD does not overlap with SHLAA. It is a separate exercise, which means that you still need to put forward your sites even if they have already been considered in the SHLAA study. The 2011 SHLAA update is happening at the same time. Please use the SHLAA pro forma to inform us of any SHLAA sites (new or existing) by Friday 3 June 2011.
