The updated Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) was adopted at a meeting of the Council with effect from 15 July 2011. This has replaced the original SCI which was adopted by the Council on 22 February 2007.
The adoption of the updated SCI follows a nine-week public consultation which ended on 7 January 2011. The updated document which takes into account the changes the Government have made to planning legislation and the associated regulations in 2009 and also responses to the consultation.
The updated Statement of Community Involvement 2011 sets out how and when the Council will involve the community and other interested people and organisations ('stakeholders') in the preparation of its planning policy documents, and also in the consideration of planning applications in Woking.
The Statement of Adoption is included within the SCI on page 3.
An SCI Consultation report has been produced which details the consultation undertaken before the SCI was adopted and details of the responses recieved and if the document was ammended as a result of them.
Any person aggrieved by the SCI may apply to the High Court for a judicial review of the decision to adopt the SCI. Such a claim must be made by 29 September 2011.
