The Statement of Community Involvement was adopted at a meeting of the Council on the 22nd February 2007.
The Statement of Community Involvement sets out how and when the Council will involve the community and other interested people and organisations ('stakeholders') in the preparation of its planning policy documents, and also in the consideration of planning applications in Woking.
The Statement of Commmunity Involvement was produced following three rounds of statutory consultation.
The final stage involved submission of the document to the Secretary of State through the Planning Inspector who examined it for its 'soundness'.
A report on the submission stage consultation was prepared for The Planning Inspectorate including copies of all representations that were received. This consultation report contains summaries of all representations received, however if you would like to see the actual representations please visit the Civic Offices or the public libraries throughout the Borough in Woking, Knaphill, Byfleet and West Byfleet.
A Planning Inspector has assessed the Statement of Community Involvement against the 'tests of soundness' and also considered the representations. The Statement of Community Involvement was examined by the Written Representations procedure in November 2006.
The Planning Inspector's report recommends changes to the Statement of Community Involvement. This report is binding on the Council and the recommended changes have been incorporated into the final document.
More information on the examination process can be found on The Planning Inspectorate website.
