Criminal records bureau disclosure

For hackney carriage driver licence and private hire driver licence applications the Council provide a paper copy of the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) form and will collect a fee on behalf of the CRB for processing your disclosure.

The form will be countersigned by the authorised officer at the Council and sent to the CRB.

The CRB has indicated that they will process the application within a period of three weeks and the disclosure will then be sent to the applicant by post with a copy being sent to these offices.

You are required to supply two of the following for identification purposes:

  • passport
  • driving licence (both the paper licence and the photo card of the new style licence)
  • birth certificate

You are also required to supply:

  • national insurance number (card or letter that displays number)
  • a utility bill that displays your current address (telephone, gas, electricity, water)

Copies of required documents will not be accepted.

Once a licence holder, you are required to complete a CRB form every three years.
