Convictions

Part of the application form for a hackney carriage driver licence and private hire driver licence requires you to declare any convictions or cautions you may have had (however old they may be) and to complete a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) disclosure form.

Any convictions, for at least the last five years, including those for motoring offences, will be taken into account.  Applicants who have not been a UK resident for this period will have to provide evidence of good conduct from their previous country of residence for five years.  This usually takes the form of a current passport complete with Entry Visa and Work Stamp.
