Betting Shops

Any person wishing to operate a Betting Shop must hold a relevant licence issued by the Gambling Commission, and a premises licence issued from the licensing authority where the premises is situated

An application for a premises licence will not be validated without providing a reference number from the Gambling Commission.

A Betting Premises Licence will authorise a maximum of 4 Category B2 to D gaming machines to be available on the premises.

In general, the only default condition that will apply to premises licences relates to gambling hours. For betting shops, the default hours proposed for gambling on the premises are 07.00 to 22.00 every day all year round.
