Solicitors enquiries level of service from Building Control

There has been a marked increase in the number of solicitors enquiries relating to house purchase, and unfortunately a lot of abortive researching and copying of archived documents have slowed the process.

It is our target to process all enquiries within seven working days.

In order to assist us in meeting this target, we would expect that all phone enquiries be confirmed in writing, fax or email with payment details.

The cost for the production of documents is:

Paper size	<20 sheets	>20 sheets
A4	Nil	10p each
A3	Nil	20p each

Please note that in instances where Full Plan applications are deposited with the Council, approval documents are issued. Building Notice applications do not get their plans approved, therefore, no approval document is issued.

In the long term, as part of the e-government indicative, it is Woking Council's goal to allow searchers and enquiries through the internet. This will obviously be a great improvement for us all.
