Ground floors
Ground bearing floors

- These details assume that ground conditions permit the use of a ground bearing floor slab and that ground is free from contamination.
- Hardcore is clean, compact and sand blinded.
- A screed finish could be added to concrete if required. Levels to be adjusted accordingly.
Suspended ground floors

These details assume that manufacturer's details are followed and that calculations are provided to justify the structural stability of the floor.

Site should be well drained and not subject to flooding.

A damp proof membrane (linked to the DPC) may also be required.

Void beneath floor should be ventilated on at least two opposite sides. Telescopic vents are normally used.
