A week-long programme of engaging activities aimed encouraging old people to stay active, both in mind and body, begins next week.
Living and Ageing Well Week, organised in partnership with the Council's Centres for the Community and Freedom Leisure, will run from Monday 8 to Saturday 13 September 2014.
Activaties include sports, beauty, well-being and technology sessions.
Cllr Melanie Whitehand, Woking Borough Council's Portfolio Holder for the Centres for the Community, said: "As a council, Woking Borough Council is committed to providing the support our older residents require to enable them to continue living an active, healthy and independent life.
"The Living and Ageing Well Week is a celebration of all there is on offer to older people across the Borough. It's an opportunity for people to try, maybe for the first time, many of the activities already on offer.
"Whether you come by yourself or with friends, the week is a fantastic opportunity to get out and about, meet new people, try something different and most of all enjoy yourself."
