There are less than two weeks to go until the Sainsbury's Sport Relief Mile comes to Goldsworth Park, Woking, on Sunday 23 March. Hundreds of local people have already signed up to run one, three, or six miles, but there's still time to bag a place, don that headband and enter the fun and games!
It's the fourth time the popular charity run has come to Woking and needs local people to come together and show their support. So dig out those trainers, limber up and enter now at www.sportrelief.com As one of the UK's biggest fundraising events, Sport Relief brings the entire nation together to get active, raise cash and change lives - so get your entry in now!
Setting off from Goldsworth Park Recreation Ground, the Mile will take in the sights of Goldsworth Park Lake and is set to be an incredible event. Entrants don't have to be sporty to take part, but can choose to complete one, three or six miles knowing that all the money raised will help to change the lives of people living unimaginably tough lives right here on our doorstep, across the rest of the UK and in some of the world's poorest countries.
For those who want to be a part of Sport Relief but don't want to run, there are volunteer opportunities available. From marshalling the course to handing out medals and water, there's something for everyone.
Cllr Beryl Hunwicks, Woking Borough Council's Portfolio Holder for Health and Wellbeing, said: "The Sainsbury's Sport Relief Mile in Woking is back and it's your time to shine. In 2012, the Goldsworth Park Sport Relief Mile had over 800 participants and raised an impressive £12,596.55!
"So, from teeny-tots to super sprinters up against the clock, there's something for everyone to enjoy. This year we want to make the day even bigger and better - and we need your help. So come on Woking, pull up your Sport Relief socks, don your fancy dress outfit and enter the Mile to do something amazing!"
