Due to recent snowfall, Woking Borough Council would like to update residents and businesses on the state of local services.
Woking's Centres for the Community (St Mary's in Byfleet, Moorcroft in Kingfield, The Vyne in Knaphill and Parkview in Sheerwater) will be open as normal.
Woking Leisure Centre and Pool in the Park will be open as normal. Please check their website www.freedom-leisure.co.uk or call 01483 771122 for the latest information.
The Civic Offices will be open as normal.
If your waste was not collected on Friday 18 January, please re-present your bins (Black-lidded bin, food caddy and green garden waste) ready for collection today (Monday 21 January).
Recyling and food waste collections will take place as normal this week. Crews will focus on the main thoroughfares (road least affected by the icy conditions) and will attempt side roads where the driver considers it safe. We will maintain a list of road not collected and return at the earliest opportunity.
Garden waste collections will take place as normal this week. Some garden waste may freeze inside the bin. Every effort will be made to empty the contents but it may not be possible to fully empty bins at the time of collection.
Kestral Way Recycling Site - This site remains closed and will re-open when safe to o so.
Households are reminded to present their waste and recycling bins for collection as normal this week (the night before your collection day). If we are unable to collect, we will endeavour to return as soon as it is safe to do so.
We would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience.
Further updates about Council services, including waste and collections, affected by the recent snow fall will be posted up on this website and on Twitter @WokingCouncil in due course.
