As experts still search for the `green shoots' of the nations economic recovery, local business owners and managers are being encouraged to attend the Ambassadors Business Club Forum to explore opportunities for business growth in 2013 on Wednesday 23 January at the H.G. Wells Conference Centre, Woking.

The Council has partnered with Connect 2 Innovation Ltd and Hamlyns LLP to run a networking and business development event which will provide an insight into the local economy and highlight opportunities for business growth.

At the event, Hamlyns, Chartered Accountants, Business and Tax Advisors, will discuss how their varied client base are dealing with the current economic climate and how they have adapted to remain successful. Three of their high performing clients, Format International, William Lacey Group and Global Travel Management, will discuss how they have risen to their unique challenges and how they adapted their differing strategies to grow their businesses when other companies may have contracted.

Cllr Gary Elson, Woking Borough Council's Portfolio Holder for Economic Development, said: "The Council is working with Connect 2 Innovation to create the right environment for business growth in Woking and Surrey. The speakers at this event demonstrate that success is possible where companies work to identify new opportunities, new markets and are able to innovate. Our aim is to highlight opportunities that can be emulated by other ambitious business owners. We hope that the local business community will attend in significant numbers and benefit in the year ahead."

Anne Crean, CEO of Connect 2 Innovation Ltd, said: "This Ambassadors Business Club Forum provides great insight into how to grow successful businesses, and enables business leaders to connect to local high growth firms, local authorities and business expertise. Attending is highly recommended for quality networking and a must if you want to profile your business to potential partners, suppliers and customers."

The event will include breakfast, two networking sessions and a mini exhibition.

The Ambassadors Business Club Forum will take place between 8am and 12noon, Wednesday 23 January 2013 at the H.G. Wells Conference and Events Centre, Woking.

To encourage local businesses to get involved, one free place is available to any Borough-based business. Otherwise, tickets cost £35 (inc breakfast).
