A couple of Francophiles followed their noses to Town Square on Friday 5 March, to sniff out some of the tasty treats that will be on offer at the Brunomart French and Continental Market on 12 and 13 March.
Town Square will be transformed into a French village for two days, when traders bring their 'ambiance francaise' in to the heart of the town centre, between 9am and 6pm on both the Friday and Saturday.
The stallholders offer a wide variety of produce from across the Channel, including traditional breads and patisserie items, plus a choice of delicious cheeses, mustards and olives. Meat-eaters can tempt their tastebuds with 'confit de canard' and Corsican sausages, whilst browsers who have worked up an appetite can tuck in to some continental confectionery or a freshly-cooked crepe.
Keen shoppers can even practice their French with the friendly traders, by using the free phrase books that can be found on every stall.
