Woking's gardeners get a barrowful of awards

Garden lovers across the Borough were recognised at the Woking in Bloom/Allotment Competition presentation evening at Woking Leisure Centre (Thursday 15 September).

Local residents got growing earlier in the year, planting bulbs and seeds in gardens and allotments across the Borough as part of the annual competition.

The Mayor of Woking, Cllr Ian Johnson, presented the winners and the runners up with their prizes, which included silver salvers. The results of the Woking in Bloom competition were:

Congratulating the winners, Cllr Anne Murray, the Portfolio Holder with responsibility for Woking in Bloom, said: "Woking's gardeners have achieved an excellent standard for this year's competition. The entrants' creativity and commitment has brightened up Woking's residential areas, and our allotment gardeners have continued to produce top quality fresh produce."
