Care and support services
A wide range of care and support services are provided by Woking Borough Council, as well as other organisations such as Surrey County Council, Department for Work and Pensions, and voluntary groups.

- Surrey County Council's Adults Social Care Service provides social care for adults, working closely with the Primary Care Trusts (PCTs).
- The Department for Work and Pensions provides information on services and financial support available to people of working age.
- NHS Direct provides information on illness, healthcare and sources of support.
- Woking Hospice exists to provide and promote the highest quality holistic care possible for people with advanced terminal illness, and to provide help and support to their families and other individuals.
- The Woking Citizen's Advice Bureau provides practical help and assistance to help you solve problems that you face, for example, by helping you to apply for benefits that you are entitled to.
- The Community Furniture Project supplies furniture to people on low incomes.
- Samaritans is available 24 hours a day to provide confidential emotional support for people who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including those which may lead to suicide.
- The charity Cruse Bereavement Care provides support to those who want to talk about themselves or someone they know who has been affected by a death.
- A number of UK helplines are available which can provide a source of informed and expert advice and often help people take those first steps to finding the support they need e.g. Alcoholics Anonymous, Careline, Childline etc.

Services for older people

- Day Care services are available at several locations across the Borough from Monday to Friday, offering support and assistance for frailer older people in a social environment. These locations are Brockhill, St Marys, Moorcroft and The Vyne centres for the community
- TUBS is an assisted accessible bathing service in a community setting for those who cannot bath themselves at home. It is currently available at the following centres for the community:- The Vyne, St Marys, Moorcroft, and Brockhill.
- Foot Care for people who need basic regular help with toe nail cutting and skin care, (Feet First service) is currently available in The Vyne, St Marys, and Moorcroft centres for the community.
- Well Balanced Classes promote strength and balance and aim to prevent falls and trips in later life. Classes are co-ordinated and led by Woking Leisure Centre's qualified fitness advisors and held at the following centres for the community:- The Vyne, and Moorcroft
- The Community Meals service deliver hot meals on wheels or a selection of frozen meals to your door.
- Careline is an emergency call service enabling people to call for help at the touch of a button.
- Homelink helps older, disabled and low income homeowners to live safely and independently in their own homes by assisting with home repairs and improvements.
- Home Support helps people to live independently in the council's supported accommodation, sheltered housing and extra sheltered housing facilities.
- Safe and Warm Grants are available for small scale repairs, improvements and adaptations to people over the age of 60 or those suffering from disability, who are also in receipt of means tested benefits.
- The Purple Pages is a directory of useful contacts for people over 50 living on Woking.
- The Fifty Plus Club is held at Woking Leisure Centre and is a sociable way of keeping fit through a wide range of physical activities, organised day trips, competitions and coaching clinics.

- Disabled facility grants are available to help towards the cost of providing adaptations and facilities, so that disabled people can continue to live in their own homes.
- Homelink helps older, disabled and low income homeowners to live safely and independently in their own homes by assisting with home repairs and improvements.
- Safe and Warm Grants are available for small scale repairs, improvements and adaptations to people over the age of 60 or those suffering from disability, who are also in receipt of means tested benefits.
- A number of services for Council tenants are available such as home repairs and disabled adaptations.
- The Sensations Multi Sensory Suite at Woking Leisure Centre boasts an array of innovative equipment which can be programmed to stimulate or relax the senses and is suitable for people with disabilities.
