  • Concession - the maximum level of discount offered to Woking
Borough taxpayers on a low income (in receipt of certain benefits).

What is a key card?

A key card is a plastic "credit-card style" swipe card which works with our booking system. When your card is swiped your details can be quickly added to a booking. The cards cost £4 per year and are available from Woking Leisure Centre, Pool in the Park and the Civic Offices.

How do I get a key card?

  • Check out the criteria needed for status or concession - either on the application form or website woking.gov.uk/thekey.
  • Complete an application form and pop along to the leisure centre, pool (8am - 8pm) or Civic Offices (9am - 4.45pm) with any required paperwork and your £4 annual fee.
  • We will endeavour to complete your application and give you a key card there and then, but there may be occasions when you may be asked to collect your key card a day or two later.

Do children need a card too?

Yes. All children from 0 years upwards must have a key status card (or key concession card if eligible) in their own name in order to access status or concession discounted prices for activities at the pool and leisure centre including swimming, sports courses, fun and bounce / teen tramps, swim tuition, Pick and Mix Playstore, and holiday activities.

Why are you introducing this?

  • To help ensure the right customers get the right level of discount.
  • To prevent fraudulent access to activity price discounts which helps to keep prices fair for everyone.
  • To help speed up bookings.
  • To help understand our customers better so that programming can be adjusted and other improvements made.

Are there any other benefits?

Yes there are around 30 partners in Woking, and also outside of the Borough, who offer discounts to key card holders: restaurants, shops, health and beauty businesses, travel and hotels, print and promotions.

Please see the website for partner information: woking.gov.uk/thekey .
