Growing Your Club Forum

Throughout January and February 2012 Active Surrey and Woking's sports development team will be organising a local Club Forum for your club to get involved with. Attending a 2012 Club Forum will set your club up ready for the excitement of the year ahead and aim to guide you on:

· Marketing advice to help your club to attract new members

· Making the most of the Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games for your club using taster sessions (delivered by Woking Association of Voluntary Services)

· Funding advice - Small Grants, Sportivate, Inspired Facilities and local opportunities

Following your feedback at the last forums, a specialist speaker from Make Sport Fun will be attending to provide expert knowledge on sports marketing to help your club succeed and grow in these difficult times.

Your local forum will be attended by Woking and Surrey Heath Sports Development Officers and contain borough specific information, including an update on school sport. The forum is a great opportunity to meet and talk to local officers, and other clubs, about developing your club.

Date: Thursday 26 January 2012

Time: 6.45 - 9.30pm

Venue: Quadrant Court, Woking

FREE to attend

Step Into Sport

Active Surrey have teamed up with a range of partners to improve and recognise volunteering amongst 14-19 year olds. Step into Sport rewards young people for making a positive contribution to the development of sport in Surrey.

By working together in partnership with Surrey School's Partnerships, we all hope to increase the quality, quantity and diversity of young volunteers in sport and also help develop sport in Surrey.

If you are between 14 and 19 years of age, and attend school in Surrey then simply visit the Active Surrey website and complete the registration form. From there you will receive a Welcome Pack, which will tell you more about how volunteering in the community will benefit YOU and the rewards you could gain for simply giving a bit of your spare time to help build a better sporting community.
