Woking's Cultural Olympiad

The London 2012 Olympic Games will bring world-class sporting history to Surrey's doorstep, and with this comes new business opportunities for local businesses and all our communities, as well as improving the health and well-being of our residents.

In addition the Diamond Jubilee, marking 60 years of the Queen's reign, will be an opportunity for communities within Woking to come together to celebrate and commemorate the events of the last 60 years.

The Council, working in partnership with community groups and key stakeholders, is supporting a diverse and stimulating programme of activities, 'Celebrate Woking', that will encourage residents and businesses to get involved and be part of it.

Woking's legacy

Part of the vision of the London 2012 Organising Committee is to ensure that national and grassroots initiatives not only inspire more people to get involved, but they leave a lasting legacy where people continue to be involved in sports and cultural activities for many years to come.

Celebrate Woking - Be proud, be part of it!

Celebrate Woking is an exciting and inspirational programme of events and activities which aims to bring communities together to celebrate and raise the profile of sport, art and green spaces throughout the Borough, whilst leaving a legacy that will remain beyond the London 2012 Games.
