Swim wear guidelines

Do you wish you could cover up a bit more at Woking's Pool in the Park?

The traditional swimming costume doesn't hide much and many people are put off from swimming by the very fact that they have to show more of their body than they are happy to.

Well not any more!

Pool in the Park have altered the guidelines on what types of swim wear is suitable at its pools.

The types of clothing that would be acceptable to wear in our pools now are as follows:

The types of clothing that would not be acceptable are as follows:

  • Jeans
  • Rugby shirts
  • Suits
  • Jumpers
  • Tracksuit bottoms
  • Any cotton based materials
  • Formal shirts
  • Saris
  • Hijab

For safety and hygiene reasons, it is advised that normal swim wear be worn either underneath or over the additional clothing.

Pool in the Park reserve the right, however, to restrict access if it is felt that the outer clothing worn is neither safe nor suitable. Please also note that swimming lessons are not included in this scheme.

Pool in the Park has teamed up with two suppliers of alternative swim wear, Equator Sun and Ahiida, as well as their normal supplier Zoggs in order to provide as much choice as possible.

We will continue to monitor the affect on our pool water quality and pool incidents and we reserve the right to remove the policy at any time.

For more information on the change in our swim wear policy, please contact Pool in the Park on 01483 771122 or email james.barter@woking.gov.uk
