Pool in the Park runs 183 swimming tuition courses each week (164 for children and 19 for adults) with a total of 1800 swimmers. Swimming tuition is run over three terms of 11-14 weeks in line with state school terms. Children are taught from six months, adult classes start at beginner level upwards. We have our own badge system which runs in line with the A.S.A. national plan.
Woking Borough Council currently employ 21 swimming teachers. All swimming teachers are fully qualified, holding an A.S.A Swimming Teachers certificate and a current National Rescue award. All swimming teachers have been fully police checked. Assistant teachers are used to assist only. They are fully qualified assistant teachers who hold a current National Rescue award and have been police checked. The swimming teachers uniform is a white polo shirt with the Woking Borough logo on the sleeve and black shorts. If the swimming teacher teaches in the water they will wear a white t shirt with SWIMMING TEACHER on the back so they are easily identifiable to the duty officer and the public.
Children's term-time classes are fully booked, so customers who wish to enrol are advised to complete a waiting list card available at the Pool in the Park. Customers will be informed by post when a place becomes available.
Pool news, tuition information and term dates for your diary can all be found in Tuition News, which is published at the start of each term and available from Pool in the Park.
