Free Swimming at Pool in the Park

Worth making a splash about!

The Government is keen to encourage more people into participating in swimming activities from simply getting wet to lane swimming.

As a result of funding being provided we are pleased to inform you that Woking Borough Council will be part of this project from from 1 April 2009 until 31 March 2011. You will be able to swim for free everyday of the week during any public session times.

Who can swim for free?

If you are aged 16 and under or aged 60 and over.

You can live in or out of the borough of Woking.

How do I apply?

  • All you need to do is register for a Key card.
This link will take you to downloadable PDF copy of the application form which you can complete and bring to Pool in the Park or alternatively a paper copy is available at the pool or Woking Leisure Centre, Woking Civic Offices, or Woking Library.

  • Come along to Pool in the Park reception and remember to bring proof of age (birth certificate or passport). You'll be issued with a Key Card and we will take a photo of you which will be added electronically to your membership details.

  • Bring your Key card everytime you come to a swim.

  • If you don't have your card with you or proof of age and application form ready to apply, please be aware that normal fees will be charged.

  • Only registered members will be able to take up this great offer. Your card needs to be swiped everytime you swim for free, as we need to monitor how many people are participating.

  • Due to guideline changes by the Department of Culture, Media and Sport on the Free Swimming campaign, there will now be a one off fee of £2.00 to join the scheme. This fee will be introduced from Monday October 12 2009 for all new participants of Free Swimming. After this small payment swimmers 16 and under and 60 and over will be able to enjoy free access to the pools during casual swimming times until March 31 2011. Please remember that all swimmers wishing to gain access to free swimming must have registered and then must ensure a Key card is produced on every swimming visit.
