In a crisis could YOU save a life?

April 24, 2010 is Breath of Life Day with FREE First Aid training for the public across Surrey.

St John Ambulance believes that no-one should suffer from the lack of life-saving first aid knowledge. DO YOU HAVE THAT KNOWLEDGE?

Over the last few years, St John volunteers have trained thousands of members of the public FREE in basic life-saving skills: how to assess a casualty; put them in the recovery position; clear their airway and administer chest compressions and the breath of life.

This year, this free 30 minute training takes place at a record 14 venues across Surrey on April 24. No need to book in advance, just turn up anytime between 10am-3pm.

Everybody should have these skills, as you never know when you will be confronted with an emergency, so please take advantage of the sessions. Bring your family and friends. Dont forget young children and grandparents can, and do, save lives too!

Change to Woking Leisure Centre opening hours

Please note that from December 1 2009 Woking Leisure Centre will amend its opening times on Saturdays and Sundays.

The leisure centre will open at 9am
and close at 7pm on both Saturdays and Sundays.

Due to the challenging economic environment and low usage outside of these times at weekends, Woking Borough Council has taken the decision to reviseopening times for a pilot period until April 2010.

It is hoped that customers currently using the facilities outside of these times will feel able to access the facility during the revised hours.

Where some efficiency savings have been made by this revision, the action has enabled the council to provide resource to improve customer service at other time of the week and we hope that you will see improvement during high demand periods.

The weekend opening hours for Pool in the Park remain unchanged.

For information in regard to affected activities and alternatives please pick up an information sheet at reception.
