Rackets Club

Woking Leisure Centre offers you the opportunity to join our rackets club with the emphasis on fun rather than competitive league play.

We offer various sessions in both badminton - the UK's most popular racket sport - and squash or racketball, for all ages and abilities. Enjoy occasional coaching clinics, social evenings and the camaraderie of a typical club atmosphere where you can always find a friendly opponent to develop your game.

No membership fee required. Shuttles and squash balls are provided, simply turn up, join in and meet new friends.

Squash Leagues

Woking Leisure Centre runs squash leagues for players of all standards. Each league comprises divisions of six players. Games must be played within a five week session at the end of which the two top players are promoted and the two bottom players are relegated. To enter any of the leagues simply complete a squash league application form and return it to leisure centre reception.
Join our squash leagues and receive off-peak priced courts Monday to Friday 5pm - 6pm and all weekend.

Squash Leagues: Frequently Asked Questions

How do I join?

  • To register for the squash leagues ask for a squash application form at leisure centre reception or apply now using this link to an online form.

  • Complete the form, filling in name, address and standard of play.
    Hand in to reception. If you have applied online your form will be processed and you will be notified by email.

  • The form will be logged in our file under new registration and players will be notified when the new league commences.

What happens once I've joined the League?

  • Depending on your playing ability you will be placed into the appropriate league with five or six other players.

  • Once your application has been processed you will be contacted either by post, phone or email.

Contacting opponents

  • Please refer to the poster "Contacting Your Opponents - How to arrange your league matches", found on the racquets information board located by the squash courts.

When do I play my matches?

  • Matches can be arranged Monday to Friday 9am to 9.45pm and Saturday or Sunday 9am to 9pm.

  • Receive off-peak priced courts Monday - Friday 5pm-6pm and all weekend.

  • Bookings can be made at reception seven days in advance. Bookings must be accompanied by payment unless you hold a leisure centre booking card or membership card.

Where can I find information about the Club or League matches?

  • All information about the club and league can be found on the racquets notice board in the lower corridor by the squash courts.

How much will it cost me to play?

What are the league rules?

  • Games are to be completed over a five week period.

  • All matches are to be the best of five sets or hour time period.

  • On the finishing date the results are collated and players are incorporated into the new league.

  • Players should check the notice board after their last match to see when the new league commences.

How are results notified?

  • Players must write their scores on the result forms supplied at reception.
