Accreditation
Accreditation is the process by which properly constituted Woking based organisations whose aims and objectives clearly foster the arts, sports, community activities and/or help with community development can apply to the Council to receive accredited (or discounted) hire rates at the Rhoda McGaw Theatre and H.G. Wells Conference and Events Centre.
Established to recognise the valuable place that voluntary and community groups play in supporting the cultural life of Woking, applicants must be able to meet the following criteria for accredited user status to be conferred - a process which is renewable every 3 years:-
1. The group/organisation must be a non profit making organisation;
2. The group/organisation must be a properly constituted organisation, open to all members of the community and whose aims and objectives clearly relate to fostering the arts, sports, community activities and/or community development;
3. The group/organisation must be affiliated to a local organisation representing groups with similar objectives, e.g. Woking Drama Association, Arts Council for Woking and Woking Association of Voluntary Service (WAVS).
4. The group/organisation must not have access to their own or similar premises which can be easily used as an appropriate alternative to the Rhoda McGaw Theatre and/or H.G. Wells meeting rooms.
5. The group/organisation are either Woking based or a significant proportion of its members are residents of the Borough.
