MEND Programme

 

The MEND programme (Mind, Exercise, Nutrition…Do it!) is a fun course dedicated to helping reduce childhood overweight and obesity levels.

The MEND Programme is aimed at families with children aged 7 to 13 years whose weight is above the healthy range for their age and height. Programmes are free to attend and comprise of two sessions a week for ten weeks.

Woking Borough Council is now running MEND programmes at various locations over the next two years. Along with Surrey Primary Care Trust (PCT) Woking Borough Council has become partners in the Big Lottery Funded initiative 'England on the MEND', an £8 million project tackling the problems associated with children who are overweight or obese.
