Health and well-being is one of the three key priorities for Woking Borough Council. We are working towards integrated and accessible local facilities and services to encourage the health and well-being of all members of the community.
The World Health Organization views health as a state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.
Two key components of leading a healthy lifestyle are eating a balanced, healthy diet and taking regular exercise. Other important factors in obtaining a healthy lifestyle include reducing risk factors such as smoking and alcohol consumption, achieving a healthy work-life balance, managing stress and looking after your mental well-being.
Aim to eat at least five fruit and vegetables each and every day
Choose low fat and low salt options, the traffic light labelling on food packaging is great for helping with this
Be active! Aim for 30 minutes of physical activity on at least 5 days each week
Incidental exercise counts! Take the stairs or park the car further away
Enjoy your leisure time!
