Public toilets

It is our aim to provide clean public toilets, in a good state of repair, open at convenient times and in locations to satisfy demand.

The provision of public toilets contributes to 2 of the 3 Key Priorities identified in the Council´s Community Strategy.

  • Priority 2: A clean, healthy and safe environment.
  • Priority 3: Integrated and accessible local facilities and services.

The toilets maintained by Woking Borough Council are situated in many parts of the borough (listed below). They are open 8.30am to 5.30pm, 7 days a week (except Heathside Car Park which is closed Sundays and Bank Holidays). Typically, cleansing frequencies range from once to four times per day. In addition to the regular cleaning schedule and daily inspections, every toilet is inspected on a monthly basis by members of the Neighbourhood Team.

In the Loo of the Year Awards 2007, Woking Borough Council were pleased to receive three stars for the toilet facilties at The Wheatsheaf Recreation Ground. The Loo of the Year Awards is an independent scheme whereby the facilities entered are visited and stringently inspected and graded according to set guideines.

A fully automatic toilet is located at the Market Square. This facility is accessible 24 hours a day and costs 10 pence to use or free for Radar Key holders.
