Gardening for life flowerbed

Situated in Commercial Way, Woking.

The flowerbed is part of Woking's Gardening for Life scheme which helps local residents to encourage wildlife into their gardens, and garden in a more environmentally friendly way.

Funded by a grant from the Rotary Club of Woking District, the bed features:

  • Poppies

  • Forget me nots

  • Cornflowers

  • Poached egg plants

  • Snowdrops

  • Honeysuckle

  • English bluebells

The flowers and plants have been carefully chosen to attract a variety of wildlife including butterflies, bees and a range of insects. The partners hope that the bed will inspire passers-by to create their own wildlife beds, therefore all the plants are generally available from local nurseries and garden centres.
