Wey valley project

Rivers and floodplains can contain some of our most diverse and interesting habitats and Woking Borough is fortunate in having a high proportion of its rural land within the Wey floodplain.

The Wey Valley Project was set up to be the first point of contact for farmers, landowners and managers looking for advice and information on environmentally friendly land management on the Wey valley floodplain. The project officer can provide advice on land management and funding as well as helping to clarify the roles of each of the different agencies and authorities that have responsibilities for the various elements of floodplain habitat and water management.

Hopefully the work of the project will contribute to the enhancement of these valuable habitats and also provide an excellent resource for the residents of Woking.

The project website is a Surrey & Hampshire link on the 'links' page of the FWAG website ( http://www.fwag.org.uk/ )
