Following the 1992 Rio Earth Summit, the Surrey Biodiversity Partnership was formed to identify Surrey's key habitats and priority species in order to produce the Surrey Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP). The partnership has a core membership comprising of The Environment Agency, English Nature, Surrey and Hampshire Wildlife and Farming Advisory Group (FWAG), The Herpetological Conservation Trust, Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB), Surrey County Council, Surrey Wildlife Trust and Woking Borough Council.
The Surrey BAP contains individual Habitat Action Plans (HAPs) which identify key targets and priorities to prevent further wildlife and habitat loss and enhance biodiversity throughout Surrey.
The Surrey Wildlife Trust website below contains further information regarding Surrey's Habitat Action Plans which may also be downloaded from the site.
