Events and activities

A number of Council projects exist for the borough as a whole and targetedcommunitygroups in Woking. The Council is committed to supporting local arts initiatives and works in partnership with many local arts organisations to offer a wide and varied programme of opportunities.

The Vision - Tales from Ockenden
A large scale community play telling the remarkable story of Ockenden.
Woking Sings
View photos and read about the singing extravanganza that took place at the New Victoria Theatre on Sunday 7 February.
Surrey Artists Open Studios
Artists and craftspeople open their studio doors to the public. There were26 artists participating in the Woking area.

Anecdotes in time
A new intergenerational dance project for young people and members of the community in Sheerwater.

Woking One World
An annual celebration of multicultural arts in Woking including professional performances, workshops and town-centre events

Holiday arts activities for children and young people
Provision of a range of arts activities for children and young people during the school holidays as part of the new arts programme for Fun Attack (8 12 years) and Xtreme Fun (13 19 years).

Live & Direct
Youth music projectin partnership with Woking Youth Development Service to encourageoriginal song writing and music skills amongst young people aged 11 - 19.
Summer Sounds
Bandstand performances throughout the summer at Woking Bandstand and in Woking Park.
Big Screen Steam
Annual film shows featuring the glory days of steam in footage and short films at the Rhoda McGaw Theatre.
