Events and activities

A number of Council projects exist across the Borough for targeted community groups in Woking. The Council is committed to supporting local arts initiatives and works in partnership with many local arts organisations to offer a wide and varied programme of opportunities.

Council-led and partner projects include:

	Making Surrey An artist-in-residence project in Maybury led by printmaker Andrew Morrison. Find out how you can get involved!
	Maybury Maps A series of publications celebrating a creative digital journey in Maybury, led by an artist-in-residence.
	Creative Communities An artist-in-residence programme in Lakeview, including the projects '10 photos' and 'Bingo Portrait Series'.
	Surrey Artists Open Studios Artists and craftspeople open their studio doors to the public in June each year.
	Woking One World An annual celebration of multicultural arts in Woking including professional performances, workshops and town centre events
	Live & Direct Youth music project in partnership with Woking Youth Development Service to encourage original song writing and music skills amongst young people aged 11 - 19.
	Summer Sounds Bandstand performances throughout the summer at Woking Bandstand and in Woking Park.
	Big Screen Steam Annual film shows featuring the glory days of steam in footage and short films at the Rhoda McGaw Theatre.
