Work experience

The Council values work experience and welcomes applications from people who live in and around the Borough.

Placements can be in any of our service areas and we would like to help you find the best place for you, by encouraging you to search our website to find out more about Council Services. The length of placement can vary to suit the needs of applicants. The working hours are normally 9.00 am - 5.00 pm. On the first day students are asked to come to the Civic Offices Reception at 9.30 am.

The Council has open plan offices, a rest area and is a few minutes walk from Woking Station and the town centre shops. If any site visit are arranged, students are always accompanied by a member of staff and safety equipment is provided. A town centre map is available here.

How do I apply?

If you would like to complete your work experience with us please complete the online work experience application form or print the work experience form - paper version and send it to Human Resources.

What Happens Next?

• When your application is received you will receive an acknowledgement by email or letter.

• Applications are then circulated to the relevant service area to see if they can help.

• When a response is received, you are then contacted to confirm arrangements
