Housing Panels

The Council has five panels which deal with the different aspects of your Housing Service.

They are listed below, with a brief summary of the topics which are covered at each meeting.

Estates Panel

The Estates Panel gives tenants and leaseholders the opportunity to discuss topics that affect residents, and consider how they can improve the service.

All members of this panel are tenants and leaseholders. They meet with housing officers a maximum of three times a year, for two hours on each occasion.

Topics discussed may include:

  • grounds maintenance on housing land

  • parking

  • anti-social behaviour

  • performance monitoring

  • cleaning of communal areas in flats and maisonettes.

Tenants and leaseholders who live in sheltered and supported accommodation are invited to attend Estate Panel meetings, to discuss any issues that are specific to them.

To find out more information about the sheltered and supported schemes around the Borough, please contact Housing Needs and Enabling.

Leaseholder Panel

The Council would really like to improve communication with leaseholders. To do this, we need to know how we can help you, what information you would like, and what levels of service you expect.

In particular, we are keen to develop:

  • a Leaseholders' Service Standard - which says what we do for you and how quickly we should do it

  • a Leaseholder Handbook - to explain your rights, the Council's obligations and other useful information

  • a Leaseholders' Panel - at least eight leaseholders meet with Council officers a maximum of four times a year, for two hours on each occasion, to discuss topics that affect leaseholders and how services could be improved

  • a Leaseholders' Surgery - where leaseholders can meet officers to discuss any individual problems or queries

  • a section of the Council's website containing useful information for leaseholders.
