Tenant Participation Compact

What is the Tenant Participation Compact?

The Tenant Participation Compact is a formal signed agreement between the Council and its tenants and leaseholders. Based on guidance from the Government, it sets out how the Council may work with tenants and leaseholders in decisions about their homes. It is a working document and will be reviewed and updated as time goes on.

Woking Borough Council's Tenant Participation Compact was produced by a working group, formed at the Tenant and Leaseholder Forum Annual General Meeting in May 2005. The group consisted of tenants, leaseholders and officers with support from Councillors.

The Compact gives details of what has been achieved so far and an action plan for future aims for tenant participation. It also lists current tenant groups, panels, forums, constitutions and who to contact about joining in.

We have produced a Streetwise special and a summary of the Tenant Participation Compact which have been sent to all tenants and leaseholders.
