The following information provides details to questions frequently asked about Brockhill.

Brockhill is Woking Borough Council's only extra care scheme, located in Goldsworth Park. It has been designed around a courtyard and is in close proximity to local shops, a health centre and church.
There are 49 self-contained flats available either for single people or couples. The flats are designed with good access in mind; for example, accommodation is suitable for most wheelchair users, and there are low-level showers in each flat and well-designed kitchens.
Brockhill was designed to meet the needs of very frail elderly people living in Woking. There is round-the-clock help available to enable tenants to remain as independent as possible.
Woking Borough Council and Surrey County Council have launched a new project to ensure all Brockhill tenants can remain living independently in their own homes. The aim is to promote and improve the ability of all tenants to live independently in their own accommodation, and to enjoy the social activities Brockhill has to offer.
Features include:
24 hour personal and social care provided by on-site care team.
Joint working between housing and care staff to promote all aspects of independent living by:
Up to 20 tenancies at any one time can access the extra care element of Brockhill, with each person receiving the individual personal care that he or she needs.
All tenants are able to access the emergency support that the care team can provide, such as emergency first aid and access to paramedics and GPs.
Housing staff provide an overall assessment of the person's needs through a Support Plan, which details all the elements required to promote independence. Extra Care tenants will also have a Care Plan which gives the level of daily personal care they need to promote and sustain independent living.
Brockhill Housing Support staff review the Support Needs, and the Social Care Team Manager reviews each Extra Care tenant's needs on a regular basis. This ensures that Support and Care Plans reflect the changing medical needs and aspirations of each individual. Both the Housing and the Social Care teams work closely together to access other health and social care services, along with the tenant's friends and family, to provide a holistic support network.
Brockhill also offers day care for up to 15 particularly frail people living in the wider community. The Buddies service is available Monday to Friday.
Facilities include:
Brockhill Buddies helps people overcome loneliness and make new friends. It is an ideal opportunity for people wishing to be considered for housing at Brockhill to sample the facilities on offer.
If you know someone who would like to come to Brockhill Buddies, or requires further information, please contact the Brockhill Senior team on 01483 743975.

Applicants for the scheme are accepted from people of retirement age (60 plus) living in the borough of Woking.
The selection of tenants is based upon need, and takes into consideration the following factors:
Access to the Extra Care element of Brockhill also depends on an assessment of needs by Woking Social Care team.
Decisions on allocation are taken by a multi-agency panel with representatives from:
Applicants should be aware that there is a high demand for the facilities Brockhill provides and the waiting list for a flat can be considerable.
The Council also offers a range of other sheltered housing and supported housing schemes for older people in the Borough.
