Reduce and reuse

Reduce and reuse for Woking.  Waste reducing tips and useful information.

Freecycle (R).  www.freecycle.org is open to all who want to 'recycle' that special something rather than throw it away. Whether it's a chair, a fax machine, piano or an old door, feel free to post it on the site. Or maybe you're looking to acquire something yourself! Non-profit groups are also welcome to participate.  A Freecycle Group has been established for the Woking area, which can be found at this Internet address: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/WokingFreecycle/

SwapXChange.
www.swapitsurrey.org.  The idea of a swapXchange is simple. You can offer any unwanted items from your home or business to others who may have use for them. You can ask for items in return or swap for a service, such as help for your garden, or you could just give them away as you no longer need them.

Rag And Bone. www.rag-and-bone.co.uk is a website that aims to link together people who have large or bulky household items that are no longer required, with others who can give them a new home. Everything listed is free of charge when collected.

Reuse Networkswww.reusenetworks.org.uk encourages householders and organisations to set up local groups to facilitate the reuse of unwanted items.  Advice and support is available to help anyone who is intersted in establishing a local network.

Community Furniture Store, 27 North Road, Woking, accepts donations of unwanted household furniture in good condition. To contact them, phone 01483 750005, Monday and Wednesday between 9.30am and 12.30pm.
